LST 325 docked in Henry, Illinois. During World War II, she participated in the landings at Sicily, Salerno and the Normandy landings at Omaha Beach. From 1964 through 1999, the ship served with the Greek Navy under a grant-in-aid program and that is the origin for the Hellenic lettering and symbols that remain on parts of the ship. A group of veterans sailed the ship from Crete to the U.S. for refit as a museum piece with a home port in Evansville, Indiana.
